I needed to get back to my kind of food after a few too many nights out and down here there just is no Candle Cafe. So, we started with an appetizer of small pasta shells floating on homemade tomato soup (sauce for the kids pasta) with fresh peppers and celery. (pictured above, Uncle Curt saying, "what, this is all? Isn't there supposed to be an Italian sausage in this?")
For the adult entree we went with my typical steamy stir fry with lots of vegetables and a healthy handful of peanuts. I imposed my will on my sister and her family after two nights of restaurant eating. What can I say? I just needed my own vegetables...with no greasy sauces or heavy oils. The bottom line is, well, Uncle Curt did not even have to order a pizza after and that is my definition of success...
For dessert, a small plate of dark chocolate covered black sesame seed bites, and a dark chocolate bar with nuts, accented by a few tiny pretzels, yum...of course, chocolate at night keeps me awake so I need to be careful.

  1. Thanks for having us over to your great home Anne. Your dinner was a learning experience. I did try to eat healthy, pay no attention to the beer of course.
