Cycle Weekend

At Cycle for Survival, Larry kicked off the afternoon session with a short talk about Perry who was then honored by having the first afternoon ride dedicated to her. She launched the session with some clapping in her well deserved limelight. The event raised 4.2 million dollars for rare cancer research and is a wonderful testament to the strength and devotion of Jen Linn, the founder, who while a cancer patient herself created the hugely successful indoor cycling event. Team Perry raised well over $100,000 for her doctors to use in retinoblastoma and children's brain tumor research. And the four hours of indoor cycling, we would do it again in a heartbeat...
Anyway, back to food topics...so, Perry helped pick out the food for the special weekend, choosing Candle Cafe chili and Babycakes cornbread which were surefire winners with our assortment of guests the night before. We also served Vietnamese summer rolls with peanut sauce and a bunch of other veg based delicious treats. (No Liz, not desserts.) With all the vegetables around, no one missed the meat and everyone was well nourished, cyclists and spectators alike.
And, yes Larry opted for the post four hour ride margaritas, and, well, actually, so did I...hmm, maybe not our best decision of the day.
